While in these spaces, I am consumed with emotion; a spiritual sensation overpowers my body and I realize that these buildings are no longer ours. They have become part of the landscape, a piece of the puzzle, an undisputed element of the environment, and once planted and rooted to the ground, take on a life of their own.
Demolition prematurely ends the cycle of life for a building while destroying the direct connections we have to our past and the relations we can make with our communities in the future.
These photos are an attempt to show the beauty of these spaces and to encourage their continual existence in our environments.
